Description:
National HIV/AIDS philanthropic organization seeks Government Grants Compliance Officer to be responsible for the organizations compliance strategies, policies, procedures, processes and related reporting around federal and other governmental grants. They ensure compliance with all applicable federal laws and regulations including OMB A-133 and A-122 for Non Profit Organizations. They also ensure that the organization is informed of its obligations and that controls are established and maintained to accomplish compliance. The Compliance Officer is also responsible for identifying major risk factors for the organization and work with management to develop strategies, procedures and controls to reduce regulatory risk.
General duties may include: maintain current knowledge of laws and regulations, keeping abreast of recent changes; develop annual compliance work plan; work with Finance Department on sub grantee monitoring and federal/government compliance requirements, sub grantee reimbursement and budget reporting, and federal compliance sample testing and analysis; oversee and monitor the implementation of a compliance program for each federal/government funded program; develop, coordinate, and participate in a multifaceted educational and training program that focuses on the elements of the compliance program; work with senior management to coordinate internal compliance review and monitoring activities, including periodic reviews; work with the Finance & Program Departments in responding to government monitoring audits and queries; monitor external audit review processes, maintain awareness of compliance issues, and in conjunction with senior management, respond to administrative inquiries related to compliance issues or audits.
The ideal candidate must possess: strong knowledge of federal/government standards and compliance related issues; ability to understand complex budgeting processes; ability to communicate and explain compliance issues to individuals with limited financial experience; ability to adapt in fast paced changing work environment; ability to take initiative, think critically, manage time, hold self accountable, and prioritize multiple tasks and projects; have excellent personal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; and proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to work effectively independently and as a member of a team is essential.
